Anyone who knows me knows I don't like Thanksgiving. I don't like the food (what? no chocolate?!), I don't like that damn parade, and I don't like the crowds. My perfect Thanksgiving consists of staying home and away from all that, with a Thanksgiving dinner more like what Snoopy and Woodstock made before Peppermint Patty showed up and started bitching about turkey and stuffing.
I like to think I'm thankful for more than one day a year, this year more than ever. The things I feel thankful for every day are my wonderful dog Sunflower, who makes me laugh even when things are at their worst, and the friends and family who have tried to help me out during this most horrible of years.
I also always like to take today to give a nod of remembrance to one Thanksgiving a few years ago when I ventured to do something that eventually made me miserable. I guess I don't regret it. All experiences are worth something.
